Early Childhood Investment Policies and Principles
CSC’s early childhood program and investment policies are sharply defined and focused on achieving
four critical goals:
- Increasing Healthy Births
- Reducing Child Abuse and Neglect
- Increasing School Readiness
- Increasing Access to Quality Afterschool and Summer Programs
The following high-level guiding principles guide and drive CSC’s investment and accountability approach:
- Due diligence and theoretical integrity: CSC conducts due diligence on all
prospective program investments and only funds organizations with demonstrated capacity to successfully
implement early childhood programs.
- Results orientation: CSC uses a strategic approach dedicated to funding
programs that work including, whenever possible, implementing evidence-based programs.
- Data-Driven: CSC invests in the infrastructure needed to have data and
information readily available for decision-making, providing the foundation needed to effectively implement a quality
early childhood system of care.
- High return on investment: CSC uses a strategic approach dedicated to
funding programs that work including, whenever possible, implementing evidence-based programs.
